Hey! My name’s Sam, and I’m a strategist from Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Growing up as a mixed girl from the suburbs, I always found myself falling just short of a label that truly fit. So, I did everything I could to give myself one: the quiet bookworm, the musician, the clever student, the actress, the scientist, the nerd. As I dived deeper and deeper into what I could be, I realized I loved the idea of not having to choose.

 

Today, it’s what I love most about strategy. It’s not just about having a place where I’m allowed to nerd out on all kinds of topics–though it’s a strong selling point–I also love the opportunity to talk to all kinds of people. Whether it’s Dungeons & Dragons, working out, or the greatest hip hop albums ever made, nearly all of my interests would’ve been impossible to get into without someone there to teach me.

 

I'm a strategist because I believe a brand should understand its audience inside and out, and that understanding starts with a willingness to learn.
